din O mite

Because G. has spent the past two weeks studying dinosaurs in school, I decided to take him on a special trip to the Museum of Natural Science to see the "real" thing! He was so excited he went running to the dinosaurs before I could even pay for our tickets!

 He definitely knew the triceratops...
Was mesmerized by a dinosaur egg....
Was troubled by the lion and bloody zebra...
and amazed at  the long neck like in Land Before Time.
After we saw the dinosaurs and diamonds, we went to explore the hall of energy.
Then to my favorite...the Cockrell Butterfly Center.
 A walking stick!
An incredible waterfall,. which I had never noticed on my own.
And a very neat iguana who lives in the butterfly museum.
The day reminded me of the John Cooper slogan, "From curiosity to wisdom." It was fun to be around someone so curious. What a day!

Da Boy

I think this school project sums Alan up...

Gregory really wants a jersey with the number one, so he begged me to take a picture of him with my middle school students at a recent basketball team. Reed is #1, but there are a lot of great guys here!

It has been so cold that we have spent a lot of time playing in G's cozy playroom. One of his favorite things to do is make a "feast" for us.
He's even learning how to set the table!

Christmas Concert

The weekend before Christmas Gregory and his "Music With Ms. Mary" (Miss Mary is in the back of the second picture) class performed at a local nursing home. The pictures aren't the best, but if you look closely at the back row on your right, you can find his face.
This made me wish that Mema and Grams were closer...

And the icing on the cake...the homemade ginegerbread men. Yum!

Ho! Ho! Ho!

On December 17, Gregory's class had a holiday party and book exchange. Gregory was the first to give his book to a friend and, of course, he picked the smiley happy Isaac.

Santa brought G. lots of goodies, like silly string...

candy...

and a John Deere Gator!

Aunt Mary Lee sent Gregory some dishes for his kitchen. He has cooked several feasts for all of us.
We have been blessed to spend a lot of much needed time with family.
Gregory and Addison had a great time playing at the park,

ice skating,

and giving each other gifts.

Wishing you all a Very Happy 2011!
