G's World

Meet Gregory's family.

The newest addition is Steve...

Matt bought Steve a few weeks ago at a Japanese Festival. We didn't name him for a few days, thinking he was not going to be around for very long but after a week we had to come up with a name. Since Gregory had been talking about this 'Steve' imaginary person, or so I thought, we decided this would be the best name for the fish. Later I discovered that Steve was the name of the main character on Blue's Clues...go figure!

About three weeks before Steve joined us, we got a Foster dog named Crockett. Crockett is so very sweet but has a lot of health issues. Gregory likes Crockett a lot because he is so mellow. He's often coddling Crockett, giving him his "go's" to play with and snuggling him in bed.
Poppy, the princess, has been my constant companion for the past five years. Poppy's past times include chasing bugs in the grass and working on her suntan.

I have had Roy Rogers for eight years. He's a good ol boy who overheats and likes to eat.

St. Gregory

Today was Matthew's Confirmation day! We got to go to his two hour mass and say lots of prayers for him and the other 237 kids who were confirmed by Cardinal DiNardo. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Daniel_DiNardo

The saint that Matt researched and his confirmation name was Gregory.
Gregory thanks God for Matt almost every night and we will be praying that he leads a life that is pleasing to Christ.
Don't forget this verse, Matt!
Jesus replied, "Love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind." Matthew 22:37

Nostalgia

According to Merriam Webster's Dictionary, Nostalgia is: a wistful or excessively sentimental yearning for return to or of some past period or irrecoverable condition, Yeah, that's me....missing my baby. My one year old, my three month old, the baby that was the past two Mays. Not that G isn't a terrific two year old who cracks me up and is charmingly sweet. It's just that the past two years have flown by way too quickly! So I have decided to post pictures of Gregory last year at this time playing with his favorite toys in the toy closet. Most of these toys have now been given away and replaced. He couldn't even walk last May...and check out how he is sitting on top of the block box!

This picture has always made me laugh. Gregory loved to play in the cabinets and for a while he frequently tried to fit himself in a pot...perhaps that was his way of telling me that he was hungry! It was on mother's day 08 that he first said, "Mamamamama"! Now he calls me Mama Mia. I'm so blessed to have him as a son!
Thank you, Gregory, for another very special mother's day. I had a great time sharing oatmeal with you at Starbucks, swimming in the back yard and with Daddy. You are the best!

Summertime with Savannah

Taking advantage of this HOT spring day, G and I and Mr. Frog went over to the Smith house for the afternoon. We had such a blast with Savannah Grace, Miss Amanda and Coach! G talked about SG all the way home and had a hard time going to sleep tonight.

Gregory and I are so blessed to have such good friends.

A boy and his dog

Our sweet foster Crockett loves to snuggle up next to Gregory each night. As soon as I leave the room, Crockett will crawl up in bed with G. and snuggle in for the evening.
We don't know where Crockett came from, but I know he needs a comfy bed for the rest of his life!
