Short end of the stick

Oh the joys of summer...
For the past two weeks Gregory has been taking swimming lessons with a wonderful instructor named Desiree at FINNS. There is one other very sweet girl in his class named Olivia and G. seems to enjoy watching her and making "raindrops". What I enjoy most in watching him interact with the others. I like being the observer...
I know I am supposed to be focusing on all the great things in life, but over this past week I have been frustrated, impatient, and cranky. I just wish Gregory had more support from someone besides just me. I try to do it all but I just can't. Here are some things that I wish G. had but doesn't: 1. A dad to take him to the grocery store, the park, the pool, ANYTHING by himself. Just anything! 2. Grandparents who could just come over and watch him for a few hours or take him to the grocery store, the park, the pool, ANYTHING!
While considering #1 and #2, I should mention this: 3. It would be AWESOME if there were someone who would take Gregory to do all those things that I really don't care to do but that he loves like fishing, throwing stones in the water, bike rides and playing in dirt....oh, this was Ania. Sadly for us, Ania is moving back to Poland on the 26th. We were so lucky to have her in our lives for the last nine months. I pray someone else out there will come along to do these "fun, boy" things with G....because fishing and throwing stones in a pondis way out of my element :)
Because I so cherish my time with Gregory it is hard for me to admit that I need help, but I think I've hit the breaking point. I do love my time with him but for just an hour a week, I wish there were someone else in his life that could help give him direction and guidance. I truly can't do it all, even though I wish I could.

Yeessss

Gregory and I have been swimming every day since school let out! On Thursday we visited my friend, Lindsay and her three year old son, Dylan and baby Grayson. Gregory and Dylan had a great time playing together!

Today we went to our first swimming lessons at FINS where G. learned how to, "Go under, blow bubbles, push and pull!" Then we went over to the Humes' to celebrate Carly's fourth place finish at her golf tournament and relax in the water while eating watermelon!
Yesterday G, Daddy, and Mommy all went swimming and ate dinner outside.
On Saturday, Ania, Petor, Kasper, and Kuba came over for a barbecue and we all went swimming. Gregory was so happy that he couldn't contain himself! He loved the attention, the water, and the yummy food! Here are some pictures that Petor took in the pool.

Yes...we love summer and we are going to miss Ania.

Very Hungry Caterpillar

Happy Birthday to You!

Happy Birthday to You!

Happy Birthday Dear Butterfly!

Happy Birthday to YYYYOOOOOOUUUUU!

On Saturday, May 23, Gregory and I watched a "very hungry Caterpillar" that was hanging from the handle on his water table. It was green with little orange stripes running down its side and black prickly things sticking out from its skin. Mid morning the most amazing thing started to happen! It started to curl up so it looked like a C....then it formed an oval!
We left for a couple of hours, came home and there was a cocoon (as G pronounces it...Ca Coon!). The Ca Coon was light green with a little white dot at the tip where it was fastened to the handle. We showed everybody who came to visit and would check on our little visitor daily!

Today a beautiful orange and black butterfly appeared and Gregory got to see it with his sweet nanny, Ania! She said it sat on the cocoon for about ten minutes before flying away. Gregory was quite excited and sang Happy Birthday while looking at the cocoon tonight. This was such a perfect gift from God to a little boy whose very favorite story is The Very Hungry Caterpillar!
I must mention that Gregory not only loves the hungry caterpillar, but he also loves food. When asked what he wants to eat he will reply, "Um...chocolate cake...um, watermelon, um....Swiss cheese.....um, a slice of salami, um cupcake, um pickle, um sausage"....and then he will add his other favorite such as cantaloupe, apple, etc.!
